A rejection of the ‘rational square boxes’ that dominated furniture design before the advent of Charles and Ray Eames and Verner Panton, the armchair h8401 uses soft, sculptural contours to mimic the reposing form of the human body. The furniture provide a simple ‘tabletop’ for the portable technology that now seems to follow us everywhere. The design -fluid in form and function- is intended to accomodate both the passive and active behavior of its users. The polyethylene version is realized with th rotomoulding system. Thermal shock resistant, UV stabilized. Suitable also for outdoor use. Available in 10 different colours.
In 2004 she was awarded the New Dutch Design Classic and is also on display at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Vitra Design Museum in Wheil am Rhein, Germany.
